This is the place to be for shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and convenience.  Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall on Camelback has high end boutiques, IMAX Theatre, and a food court.  You can also see the amazing Soleri Bridge which connects Old Town Scottsdale with Downtown Scottsdale and was designed by Paolo Soleri.  Two favorite and casual food spots to check out are Uncle Sal's Italian Restaurant (grab a spot at the bar and meet some of the regulars) and Carlsbad Tavern (local hotspot with cavern rock features and waterfall on the patio).  The hottest clubs can be found on Saddlebag Trail off of Camelback and the surrounding side streets.  During the day you can catch games on the TV's and a bite to eat on the patio, and at night enjoy all types of music, dancing, and entertainment.  
You are also minutes away from Arizona State University, Tempe Town Lake, Mill Avenue, Phoenix Zoo, The Botanical Gardens, and several outdoor activities like a hike on Camelback Mountain or Piestewa Peak.
